Entrepreneur of the Month: Virginie Bapaume x 23Beauty Paris
Since its founding, Nuhanciam has been committed to supporting women in entrepreneurship. Today, we’re featuring the new brand from Virginie Bapaume, an influencer and digital communications specialist, who is embarking on her entrepreneurial journey with her nail polish brand, 23Beauty Paris.
1. Could you introduce yourself for those who don't know you?
My name is Virginie Bapaume, and I’ve been working in digital communications for over 10 years. I’ve written for *Elle*, *L’Express Styles*, and *Auféminin*. Throughout my career, I’ve done everything I can to promote inclusion and diversity—whether in my relationships with the brands or the media outlets I’ve collaborated with. I believe it’s essential that we represent everyone—whether in the media, in culture, or in the workplace.
2. Can you tell us about your new brand?
I’m in the midst of launching the brand I’ve always wanted to see. It’s inclusive and embodies values that resonate with me. It’s called 23Beauty Paris, a brand of vegan nail polish and natural nail care products. I’m a huge fan of nail polish, but I don’t see this concept of inclusivity reflected in the brands currently on the market. So I created it with this “Conscious Beauty” positioning… A clean, ethical, transparent, and inclusive brand. We minimize our impact on the planet (through local partners, certified packaging, etc.), and we take care of ourselves.

3. Why did you decide to embark on this adventure now?
I’d been thinking about it for about ten years. As a huge fan of nail polish, I wanted the products to match my preferences (easy to remove, quick-drying, transparent in terms of ingredients, etc.). It took me a while to develop the concept for the project. Then, with the lockdown, I was able to take a breather and started working on the name, the concept, and the values. And not long after that, I was already filing everything with the INPI!
4. What advice would you give to women who want to start a business?
Believe in yourself! That’s the key. Once you’ve figured out what you want to do, why you want to do it, and who your target audience is, you have to take the plunge. It’s not easy—sometimes it’s discouraging—but the process of starting a business is so rewarding every single day. I also recommend seeking guidance in areas where you’re not an expert. I surrounded myself with a formulation expert and two estheticians to create a project that feels meaningful. Plus, I’m part of The Colors program, which provides real support on a daily basis.
5. How can you stay motivated in the face of the challenges of entrepreneurship?
Again, it’s about being surrounded by people who believe in you. Before the launch, there are moments when you want to give up and tell yourself, “I’m quitting.” But there’s always someone close to you who’ll bring you back to reality: “Have you finished your website?”—“Are your product listings ready?”—“Have you contacted that person you told me about the other day?” Of course, that forces you to get moving!
6. What values do 23beauty and Nuhanciam share?
I've known Nuhanciam from the very beginning, and I feel a deep connection to the brand. We cater to everyone, without distinction; we want to create brands that are meaningful and resonate with people—brands that are part of our daily lives and respect our consumers.
7.What can we wish for you as this adventure continues?
Have a great start and a wonderful life!
