Facial yoga? Farah Yassine explains it to you
Could facial yoga boost the effects of our skincare products tenfold? To find out, we interviewed Farah Assaad Yassine, an expert in yoga and nutrition. As the lead instructor for several courses on the subject, she tells us about her background and the benefits of facial yoga.
1- Could you please introduce yourself?
My name is Farah Yassine, and I’m Lebanese. I originally studied law, but after moving to Morocco, I discovered yoga and fell in love with the practice. Eager to learn more, I completed two yoga teacher training programs: one 200-hour program and another 300-hour program. I also specialized in Yin Yoga, Ayurveda, and Face Yoga.
Since I love living a healthy lifestyle, I completed a training program in nutrition and anti-aging diets.
My passion is sharing yoga with those around me and helping people rediscover the path to themselves.
2- What is facial yoga?
Face Yoga is a practice that involves strengthening, stretching, and massaging the facial muscles to prevent and/or reduce wrinkles, redefine facial contours, and give the skin a radiant glow.
Strengthening the facial muscles, just like strengthening the muscles of the body, helps tone the muscles, redefine facial contours, and prevent sagging of the skin attached to these muscles.
Stretching helps relax muscles that are under a lot of strain and which, over time, create the lines we call wrinkles.
Massages, especially when performed with a good product like Hydra Intense Cream , promote lymphatic circulation and give the skin a healthy glow.
3- What is the one technique you absolutely must know, and how do you perform it correctly?
The most important thing about Face Yoga is learning to control involuntary facial contractions. It’s “conscious Botox.” Instead of paralyzing the muscle with external products, you learn to relax the muscle through breathing.

4- What is the connection between classical yoga and facial yoga?
Facial yoga, like traditional yoga, is based on the idea of self-awareness through breathing. In addition, several yoga poses are beneficial for the face, such as Downward-Facing Dog and inversions, which help bring blood flow back to the face. Upward-Facing Dog, on the other hand, tones the neck.
There are also breathing exercises that help give the face a radiant glow, such as Nadi Shodhana and Kapalabhati…
Furthermore, it’s even said that people who practice these exercises have much more relaxed facial features…
5-Where can we find you?
You can find me on my Instagram page@farahayassine.
6- What's coming up next for you?
Right now, I'm working on a new program that combines yoga and nutrition.
