1. The first piece of advice I’ll give—and one I always follow no matter what time I go to bed—isto thoroughly remove your makeup before going to sleep. It’s important to have healthy, fresh skin at bedtime because the skin is more permeable at night. This also makes it the ideal time to apply your skincare products and night cream so your skin is well-hydrated when you wake up.
2. Choosing a day cream suited to your skin type is very important for keeping your skin well-hydrated and preventing tightness (if you have dry skin) or shine (if you have oily skin). Just like night cream, this is a product you leave on your skin for many hours, so you might as well choose it wisely!
3. Avoid products or techniques that are too harsh on the skin, because even though the skin renews itself, this process requires a lot of “energy.” Furthermore, its ability to regenerate is limited, so it’s best to protect it and avoid damaging it with abrasive products or techniques.
4. As with everything, consistency is key! Creating a routine for your skin—or even your hair—is important to me because it’s the only way to see the results of the skincare and haircare you practice.
5. Eating a healthy diet and maintaining a healthy lifestyle are also the foundation of a healthy body and skin! Don’t overlook this last point—it has a much greater impact on your beauty than you might think!
