What Is Tego® PEP 4-Even? — Definition

Tego® PEP 4-Even is a synthetic tetrapeptide. It is a short chain of four amino acids that mimics the natural biological signals that regulate skin pigmentation. This peptide was designed to reduce melanin imbalances without completely blocking its production, making it ideal for skin prone to dark spots, regardless of their cause.

This peptide is produced using biotechnology, which guarantees its reproducibility, stability, and purity. It is incorporated into a water-based formulation that is easy to formulate and bioavailable to the skin.

Tego® PEP 4-Even is part of a new generation of gentle skin-brightening active ingredients that respect the diversity of skin tones while effectively targeting pigmentation irregularities.

Tego® PEP 4-Even — How It Works

Tego® PEP 4-Even works primarily by reducing the expression of the MITF protein, which orchestrates melanin synthesis in melanocytes. By limiting this activity at an early stage, it reduces excessive melanin production without completely blocking the process, thereby preventing any destabilization of the skin.

This biomimetic mechanism helps prevent and correct the appearance of pigment spots while preserving the skin’s natural complexion. The peptide also acts on inflammatory signaling pathways that can trigger or exacerbate hyperpigmentation.

At the same time, it strengthens the skin barrier and enhances the skin’s protective function. This limits external aggressors responsible for oxidative stress and dark spots caused by sun exposure or pollution.

Finally, its gradual, gentle, and targeted action ensures excellent tolerability, even on the most sensitive skin or skin prone to post-acne or post-UV inflammation.
