Alpha-Melight™ is a patented ingredient of natural origin.

It is extracted from the Candeia, a Brazilian tree whose bark is naturally rich in alpha-bisabolol, a compound with powerful anti-inflammatory, healing, and soothing properties. More specifically, Alpha-Melight™ is derived from this bark.

Alpha-Melight™ — How It Works

Alpha-Melight™ helps regulate melanogenesis: the biological process by which melanin—the pigment that gives the skin its natural color —is produced.

Melanogenesis is triggered by exposure to the sun’s UV rays, hormonal fluctuations, or skin inflammation (acne flare-ups, injuries, etc.). However, overproduction of melanin in certain areas of the skin leads to the appearance of brown spots and acne scars.

This is where Alpha-Melight™ comes in! It has the ability to slow down the melanin production process, thereby effectively preventing and reducing hyperpigmentation.

Alpha-Melight™ also combats skin inflammation—the leading cause of pigmentation spots—and protects the epidermis from damage caused by external aggressors, which often trigger the appearance of new spots.

To top it all off, its anti-irritant properties make it an effective ingredient for soothing itching and certain types of redness.

Is Alpha-Melight™ suitable for all skin types?

Alpha-Melight is very well tolerated by all skin types (oily, combination, acne-prone, normal, dry)—even sensitive skin—and by all skin tones. It is a gentle ingredient that does not irritate the skin, unlike other skin-lightening actives.

While it is beneficial for all skin types, it is particularly beneficial for Black and dark-skinned individuals, who tend to be more prone to hyperpigmentation and dehydration.
